The three Pyramids of Giza are beyond doubt the surpassing expression of pharaonic majesty and power. They are the sole survivors of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The rugged, step-like sides of all three pyramids have been attacked by impatient treasure hunters and also used in the Middle Ages as quarry for Cairo houses. Yet the three monuments are so huge, that they have triumphantly defied human destruction.
